Concrete & Asphalt Superintendent (Restoration Division)

Comp: $110K–$150K base + performance bonuses + truck + fuel + benefits
Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Concrete & Asphalt Superintendent to lead and scale our growing restoration and small-project division. This role is responsible for daily field execution, crew performance, and job profitability across multiple active sites.
This is not a sit-in-the-office role — this is a production-driven leader who can run crews, solve problems in real time, and keep jobs moving fast and profitable.
Core Responsibilities
Field Operations
- Oversee multiple crews daily (concrete, asphalt, patching, restoration)
- Coordinate mobilization/remobilization across several jobs per day
- Ensure all work meets specs, compaction, and finish quality standards
- Manage job sequencing, scheduling, and site logistics
Production & Profitability
- Hit daily production targets (SF placed, tons installed, patches completed)
- Track labor hours vs. budget
- Identify and correct inefficiencies immediately
- Drive margin performance (target 15–25%+ gross)
Crew Leadership
- Manage foremen and field crews (hire, train, discipline)
- Enforce accountability and productivity standards
- Maintain strong team culture and safety mindset
Client & GC Coordination
- Communicate with GCs, inspectors, and project managers
- Handle field issues, inspections, and punch lists
- Represent company professionally on-site
Compliance & Safety
- Enforce OSHA standards and company safety policies
- Ensure proper compaction, testing coordination, and documentation
- Maintain jobsite cleanliness and organization
Requirements
Experience
- 7+ years in concrete and/or asphalt construction
- 3+ years as a Superintendent or Senior Foreman
- Strong background in:
- Concrete placement & finishing
- Asphalt paving & patching
- Subgrade prep & compaction
- Small-job, high-volume operations
Skillset
- Ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously
- Strong understanding of production rates and job costing
- Proven ability to run crews efficiently
- Comfortable with fast-paced, high-turnover work environments
Preferred
- Experience with public works (WSSC, MDOT, DC Water)
- Knowledge of compaction testing & inspection processes
- Experience scaling or building a new division
