Job Title: Construction SuperintendentJob DescriptionThe Construction Superintendent oversees the day-to-day field operations of commercial construction projects, with a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, and subcontractor coordination. This role leads on-site activities, ensures work complies with plans, specifications, and local building codes, and serves as a key liaison between ownership, subcontractors, and field personnel. The position is based on-site in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and involves work on projects that include EV charging station construction, with potential opportunities to support additional projects if willing to travel.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, day-to-day supervision of all on-site construction activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.
- Establish, implement, and enforce the project safety plan and maintain responsibility for overall jobsite safety.
- Conduct regular on-site meetings with subcontractors, owners, and trades to coordinate work, resolve issues, and communicate project expectations.
- Maintain discipline and professional conduct at the jobsite, ensuring adherence to company policies and site rules.
- Supervise company field labor as well as hourly employees hired through third parties, providing direction and oversight of daily tasks.
- Manage and oversee subcontractor activities, ensuring work complies with contract requirements, plans, and specifications.
- Help establish and enforce the project quality control plan in alignment with drawings, specifications, and local building codes.
- Maintain thorough project documentation, including daily reports and jobsite photos, to accurately record progress and field conditions.
- Monitor subcontractor progress against the schedule, identify delays or constraints, and work with the team to keep the project on track.
- Ensure proper job sequencing so that trades work efficiently and safely and the project flows logically from one phase to the next.
- Collaborate with the project team in the preparation of CPM (Critical Path Method) schedules.
- Prepare and maintain look-ahead schedules to forecast upcoming work and resource needs.
- Implement and manage the project schedule to meet established milestones and overall completion dates.
- Prepare and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to clarify plans and specifications when needed.
- Act as a liaison with the owner or occupant, communicating field conditions, coordinating access, and addressing concerns as they arise.
- Identify and resolve field conflicts, including discrepancies in drawings or site conditions, in coordination with the project team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date as-built drawings throughout the construction process.
- Identify and document items that may result in potential change orders or back charges, and communicate these to the project team.
- Coordinate material deliveries to ensure that necessary materials are available on site when needed and stored appropriately.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support successful project delivery.
Essential Skills- Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent overseeing commercial construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple trades on active jobsites.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, including civil, electrical, and general construction plans.
- Strong background in construction supervision within commercial construction environments.
- Experience working with or for general contractors on ground-up or renovation projects.
- Knowledge of construction management principles, job sequencing, and field coordination.
- Ability to implement and monitor safety plans and enforce safety standards on site.
- Capability to support and enforce quality control measures in accordance with plans, specifications, and local building codes.
- Experience with schedule management, including CPM schedules and look-ahead planning.
- Strong problem-solving skills to resolve field conflicts and address issues in real time.
- Effective communication skills to lead meetings and serve as liaison with owners, occupants, and subcontractors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience with EV charging station construction or related electrical infrastructure projects.
- Broad construction background, including exposure to civil, electrical, and commercial construction scopes.
- Familiarity with documenting field activities through daily reports, photos, and as-built drawings.
- Ability to identify and document potential change orders and back charges.
- Willingness to travel for additional projects beyond the initial 8–9 month assignment, if needed.
Work EnvironmentThis role is fully on-site in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, working directly at active construction sites. The superintendent operates in a field-based environment that involves regular interaction with subcontractors, tradespeople, and owners. The workday centers around monitoring construction activities, coordinating deliveries, and conducting site meetings. The position may require standing and walking on uneven surfaces, working in varying weather conditions, and navigating an active commercial construction environment. Project durations are anticipated at approximately 8–9 months for the initial assignment, with potential opportunities to move to other projects if willing to travel.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
