Position Overview
The Superintendent will oversee all field operations on K–12 construction projects, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, collaboration with project teams and school stakeholders, and a deep understanding of building in active or occupied environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day‑to‑day field operations from preconstruction through project closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules, logistics plans, and site safety plans
- Coordinate subcontractors, self‑perform crews, inspectors, and vendors
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and contract documents
- Manage construction in active/occupied school environments
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Owners, Architects, and School District representatives
- Mentor field staff and foster a positive, inclusive jobsite culture
- Enforce company safety program and OSHA compliance
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Superintendent on K–12 projects
- Strong knowledge of ground‑up and renovation school construction
- Experience managing complex schedules and multiple trades
- Ability to lead diverse teams and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
- Familiarity with self‑perform construction is strongly preferred
- OSHA certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Willingness to work on projects throughout the Chicago area
