SUMMER SPORTS INSTRUCTOR

Assist in the organization, coordination and instruction of a summer sports programs for adults and youth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Regular attendance is required to perform the duties of this position.
  • Collaborates in the planning and implementation of sport specific class as assigned.
  • Actively participate in instruction during program operational hours.
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of sport specific plans created by Sport Supervisor.
  • Provide leadership and direction to program participants. Assists with daily check in as well as with the constant supervision of program participants.
  • Promote interest and provides information regarding sports classes to the general public.
  • Perform custodial work as needed to maintain sanitary standards and upkeep of facility.
  • Assist in administering sports tournaments as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and chain of command.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and knowledge equivalent to a high school background.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
  • Working knowledge of any one of the sports programs offer. (i.e. basketball, volleyball, tennis, football and weight training)
  • Ability to interact and supervise the participation of patrons.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, participants, and the general public.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions; Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment.
