The Coral Springs Police Department is committed to providing a safe and secure community. Part of this commitment is to provide outreach for post-secondary students to observe general operations of the department. Our Summer Seasonal Counselor program is designed to allow college participants an opportunity to participate directly with various members and liaison of the Community Involvement Unit as we interact positively with the youth of our community.The Summer Seasonal Counselor will be exposed to the Community Involvement Unit to gain insight on crime prevention and community outreach. A typical summer will include assisting the team with facilitating the Department's Summer Youth Program and any other projects or assignments assigned by the Unit Supervisor. The Summer Seasonal Counselor may have the ability to participate in weekly activities the City has established during the Summer months for part-time seasonal employees.
Schedule The Coral Springs Police Department Summer Camp program is designed to create an opportunity for college level students to have meaningful work experience. The program is an 8-week paid program. Students must be available to work from June 8th through July 30th. The hours for each Summer Seasonal Counselor will be established by the unit supervisor.
Currently be a college level student.
Possess a valid state driver’s license.
No significant traffic violations, or criminal activity in your background.
Have not used any drugs (including steroids) without a doctor's prescription or any illegal drugs within 24 months of the date of the application.
Previous experience in childcare or working with children is preferred.
