Assist the Program Leaders in the implementation and supervision of the summer playground programs. Ensure safe and clean environment for all participants.•Assist in the implementation of activities/events through organized games, arts and crafts, nature activities, field trips, etc;
•Supervise playground participants of various ages (6-12) and ensure playground rules/regulations are followed;
•Assist in planning field trips, which includes providing and collecting permissions slips from participants;
•Maintain discipline of the participants at all times and report disciplinary problems to the site program leader;
•Report parent concerns to the site program leader;
•Complete forms and reports as required; ex.; disciplinary action, accident reports;
•Keep facilities and playgrounds clean at all times;
•Maintain inventory of all supplies and equipment;
•Performs other related duties as assigned.
•Knowledge of playground operations and associated health and safety regulations;
•Knowledge of general Parks and Recreation operating policies and procedures;
•Knowledge of general office support practices and procedures;
•Knowledge of modern first aid techniques;
•Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other city department staff and the general public;
•Skill in performing basic facility maintenance;
•Ability to assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating a variety of playground activities and events
•Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Must be a minimum age of 16; experience in working with pre-school or school age children (ex: scouting, coaching, babysitting, etc.) preferred.
