Position: Summer Learning Lab (SSL) TeacherCorporation: Boys & Girls Clubs of MuncieStatus: Seasonal (Summer 2025)Location: Various BGCM Club SitesSummary:BGCM is seeking dynamic and mission-driven Summer Learning Lab Teachers to deliver high-impact math and literacy curriculum to youth in our innovative summer program. This initiative is designed to accelerate learning, build confidence, and inspire a lifelong love of education.As a Summer Learning Lab Teacher, you will create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that integrate academic rigor with fun, fostering both skill development and a sense of belonging. This is a unique opportunity to make a measurable impact on students learning outcomes in a supportive, enrichment-based environment.BGCM serves 200+ children in grades K-12 at 4 sites across the Muncie area through summer and before and after-care programming, with a strong focus on social and emotional learning, college and workforce readiness, and academic enrichment to ensure every child has a chance to meet their potential.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Major responsibilities include:Deliver high-quality instruction in math and literacy, using research-based strategies aligned with grade-level standards.Implement interactive lessons that engage students through hands-on activities, collaborative learning, and real-world applications.Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, ensuring all students receive the support they need to succeed.Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and individualized support.Create a positive, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom environment that fosters academic confidence and participation.Collaborate with BGCM staff and enrichment specialists to integrate academic learning with broader summer experiences.Serve as a mentor and role model, inspiring students to embrace learning with enthusiasm and perseverance.Maintain accurate records of student attendance, engagement, and achievement.Conduct pre- and post assessments for each student to help gauge student progress.QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Experience:Current teaching certification in Elementary, Middle School, or Secondary Education (or eligibility for certification in Indiana).Bachelors degree (or higher) in Education, Math, English, or a related field required.Experience teaching math and/or literacy in a classroom or structured educational setting.Strong ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners.Excellent classroom management, communication, and student engagement skills.Passion for equity-driven education and a commitment to closing opportunity gaps for youth.Why Join Us?Be part of an innovative, mission-driven program making a tangible impact.Gain valuable experience in high-quality instructional methods with support from leading education partners.Inspire and empower students in a fun, engaging, and supportive environment.Work alongside dedicated educators and youth development professionals who share your passion for student success.Skills and Abilities:Must be self-motivated, competitive, creative, personable, and detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal skills. Must be able to pass any and all required background screens and drug screens at any time.Salary Range: $6,500 for 5 weeks of teaching and one initial week of training, for a total of 6 weeks. Teachers will be expected to work 4 hours each day (3 hours of instructional time + planning/prep time), with two additional hours of interactive, virtual professional development required each week.Dates/Schedule:6/9 - 6/12 Training Week | Times TBD (4 days virtual, 1 day in person)6/15 - 7/17 Working Days | 8am-12pm + 2 additional hours of PD$1,000/Week + $500 Completion Bonus
