Summer Desk Clerks (DC) assist the Residence Hall staff in the daily operation of the designated summer residence hall. The Summer Desk Clerk performs a variety of clerical tasks, general operational services for residents and visitors, a variety of safety tasks, and general functional area responsibilities. Summer Desk Clerks will be asked to work a combination of daytime and nighttime hours as well as weekday and weekend hours to accommodate the coverage needs of the Residence Hall. Summer Desk Clerks will be expected to work an average of 16 hours per week but can work up to 32 hours per week*.
* Note: Requires by-name approval from Student Employment Services. International students on F-1 or J-1 visas are limited to 28 hours per week during the summer, as required by their visa.

The Summer Desk Clerk works under the supervision of Summer Conference Professional Staff and performs a variety of clerical tasks, general operation services for residents and visitors, and a variety of safety tasks.
The primary tasks, functions, and responsibilities of the Summer Desk Clerk include, but are not limited to:
- Clerical Tasks (answers front desk telephone, greets residents and visitors, maintains and updates paper records and paperwork, etc.)
- Operational Services (receives and sorts incoming mail, issues and records the use and return of lock-out keys, etc.)
- General Tasks, Functions, and Responsibilities (complete desk logs, manage hall safety tasks, etc.).
- Must be a full-time student during the academic year
- Must maintain a semester and cumulative grade point average of 2.5
- Must not be currently on Residential or University disciplinary probation
- Must be and remain current on all financial obligations to the university
- Must be available to work some overnight shifts and weekend shifts
- Must be available to work a minimum of 16 hours each week
