Job Summary

Holy Cross Academy is seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and caring Part‑Time Summer Camp Aides to support our summer camp program. The Summer Camp Aide assists in providing a safe, engaging, and Christ‑centered environment where children can learn, play, and grow through structured activities, recreation, and positive social interaction.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise children during daily summer camp activities to ensure safety and well‑being.
  • Assist lead camp staff with planning and facilitating age‑appropriate games, crafts, and recreational activities.
  • Help maintain a positive, respectful, and nurturing environment aligned with Catholic values.
  • Support students during indoor and outdoor play, lunch, and transition times.
  • Reinforce camp rules, routines, and behavior expectations consistently.
  • Assist with set‑up, clean‑up, and organization of camp materials and spaces.
  • Monitor attendance and assist with student arrival and dismissal procedures.
  • Communicate concerns or incidents promptly to camp supervisors.
  • Collaborate with camp staff to support smooth daily operations.
  • Participate in training, meetings, and special camp events as required.
  • Uphold school policies and actively support the mission of Holy Cross Academy.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or current high school enrollment required.
  • Experience working with children preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to supervise groups of children and respond calmly in various situations.
  • Reliable, energetic, flexible, and team‑oriented.
  • Ability to work a part‑time summer schedule, including specified camp hours.
  • Practicing Catholic preferred; must support and respect Catholic teachings and traditions.
