Summer Bus Driver

• Serve as a positive role model for students
• Safely transport students to and from designated locations and campus activities
• Supervise student boarding and unloading; provide assistance as needed
• Maintain appropriate behavior and order on the bus to minimize distractions
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (e.g., brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits)
• Report mechanical issues promptly and ensure the bus remains clean and sanitary
• Comply with all traffic laws and institutional safety standards
• Communicate effectively with program staff regarding student behavior, delays, or concerns
• Demonstrate professionalism, leadership, and strong customer service skills

• Knowledge of Oregon driving laws and safe driving practices
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with students
• Demonstrated responsibility and ability to make sound, independent decisions
• Strong verbal communication skills

• Split shifts required: Student pick-up and drop-off
• Extended periods of sitting while operating a vehicle
• Occasional standing, bending, and assisting students

• In accordance with UCC policy and insurance requirements: must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of 5 years of driving experience (excluding permit years)
• Clean driving record required
• Experience working with youth preferred
