In this position, you will be responsible for investigating and pursuing subrogation and workers compensation recoveries. You will independently manage the subrogation and workers compensation cases, negotiate settlements within authority levels to maximize dollars recovered and achieve financial expectations of the customers in order to lower health care costs.
Your Responsibilities
Manage subrogation and workers compensation cases which includes investigating accidents, identifying sources of recovery, asserting subrogation liens, identifying and monitoring injured partys accident-related diagnoses and paid claims totals, analysis of claim data and ongoing analysis of providers billing activity to determine when treatment ceases and negotiating recoveries within authority levels.
Act independently to represent our subrogation and workers compensation interest.
Respond to complex legal arguments in writing and by telephone with plaintiffs counsel, defense counsel, third party insurers, and all other parties of interest.
Maintain working knowledge of basic ERISA and state subrogation and workers compensation laws.
Conduct case and issue specific research to ensure cases are managed in accordance with laws and regulations.
Review daily activity checklist (diary system) to monitor status of cases, update lien amounts, notify interested parties and determine priorities for case handling.
Assist with training and mentoring Third Party Liability Associates as needed.
Other tasks or projects as needed to support the team.
Required Skills and Experience
4+ years of related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
An understanding of subrogation or workers compensation principals, health insurance and/or PandC insurance.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and work independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service and computer proficiency is a must.
High school diploma (or equivalency) and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree
Legal research and negotiation skills preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay Range: $60,000.00 - $69,100.00 - $85,000.00 Annual
