  • Pathways Internship positions provide for development and training. Assignments become more responsible as incumbent increases knowledge and skills through work experience and academic training. At the full-performance level, you will be expected to:
  • Sales Store Checkers work in a military grocery store. The work is like a cashier or clerk at your local grocery or retail store.
  • As a student trainee, you perform the basic, simple, and repetitive checkout functions under close supervision to gain competence and proficiency.
  • Receiving change fund.
  • Operating a cash register scanning system to list and total the prices of individual items purchased, including determining proper prices by scanning, price look-up, unit marking, or referring to price lists.
  • Collecting payment, assuring validity of cash items accepted, and making correct change when required, and turning in cash and negotiable instruments to supervisor at the end of the shift.

Education

This position has an education requirement. You MUST submit dated documentation showing current enrollment in a qualifying institution (e.g. letter from the registrar, unofficial transcripts from current semester) by the closing date of the announcement. Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Students who are homeschooled must have completed 70% of their high school studies at the time of application as demonstrated on school transcript.
