STUDENT SUCCESS SEMINAR TEACHER Grades 5 & 6 2026-2027 ASA’s m ission is to inspire creative thinkers and leaders through providing an innovative concentration in college preparation inform ed by the perform ing arts. This faculty m em ber designs and delivers a structured advisory curriculum for tw o grade levels in separate classes. The course integrates the Second Step curriculum w ith ASA’s advisory m odel, including com m unity-building circles, goal setting, and regular reflection. Students w ill build and m aintain system s for academ ic and arts organization, track progress tow ard personal and academ ic goals, and engage in structured opportunities for self-assessm ent and grow th. Instruction balances w hole-group lessons w ith sm all group support, targeted intervention and rem ediation (including iXL), and enrichm ent to m eet the diverse needs of learners. Class sizes are approxim ately 28 students. Academ ic teachers have daily prep tim e for curriculum planning, m eeting, integrating, and assessing. The teacher w ill be responsible for w riting their ow n curriculum to align w ith state standards and are asked to differentiate their curriculum using additional resources as needed to support student grow th and achievem ent. This teacher w orks closely w ith the 5th/6th grade team to provide a supportive and integrated learning experience. ASA teachers provide an academ ic curriculum that is rigorous, relevant, and aligned w ith ASA’s m ission and core values. Curriculum developm ent and im plem entation reflects Arizona State Standards layered w ith ASA’s innovative college prep focus that fosters intellectual curiosity, em phasizes active engagem ent, project-based learning, inquiry-based discussions, research, advanced w ritten and oral skills, and collaboration. ASA is devoted to fostering an inclusive environm ent w here the enjoym ent and benefits of a college preparatory and perform ing arts education are accessible to the entire com m unity. This position reports to the Assistant Principal of Lower School. Minim um Qualifications ● Bachelor's D egree in content area from an accredited four-year college or university. ● H ighly qualified. ● Valid Arizona D epartm ent of Public Safety Identity Verified Prints (IVP) card. ● Teaching experience or certification preferred but not required.
