Overview

The Student Graphic Designer creates conceptual and production-ready designs that align with IC brand standards across digital and print platforms. This role requires strong attention to detail and time management to ensure all projects are completed accurately and deadlines are met. This role is ideal for a student with strong technical design skills who enjoys translating established brand guidelines into polished, production-ready work.

Hours and Pay Rate

Flexible schedule, with an average of 4-8 hours per week. Hours will be determined on a per-project basis. Additional work may be available if there is demand and the designer has capacity. Pay rate is $16.30-$16.45.

Length of Employment

Ongoing– the designer will have the opportunity to continue work throughout their enrollment, including summers and breaks if they are available.

Work Requirements
  • Working independently on projects
  • Managing more than one project
  • Experience working in Adobe Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Project management and meeting appropriate project deadlines
Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities (TDRs)
  • Develop conceptual and production-ready designs for digital and print materials in alignment with IC brand standards. 
  • Collaborate with team members to revise layouts, graphics, and visual assets based on feedback.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and meeting established deadlines
Candidate Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Must be a currently enrolled, full-time student at Ithaca College.
  • Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written).
  • Able to stand or sit for extended periods and lift 20 lbs comfortably.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (required), particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, and visual hierarchy.
  • Ability to follow established brand guidelines and design systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce clean, production-ready files. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • A portfolio demonstrating thoughtful design work and technical proficiency.
