JOB SUMMARY
The Student Assistant for External Programs (EP) & KCC Foundation will provide clerical, communications, and outreach support. This position is designed for a current KCC student who is eligible for the Federal Work Study Program. The successful candidate will have strong clerical skills and an interest in marketing and outreach activities, including social media content development, promotional writing, public relations, and photography.
This is a part-time position of no more than 20 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Clerical Duties
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
- Perform data entry and management tasks.
- Work with Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and other desktop publishing programs.
- Prepare mailings and run campus errands.
- Answer phones and provide accurate information to constituents.
- Update social media and websites in partnership with KCC Marketing & Outreach.
- Assist with planning, implementing, and promoting events.
- Provide support during events, including evenings and weekends.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Marketing and Outreach Duties
- Create content for EP activities and the Foundation's social media accounts.
- Take pictures of students, program participants, and constituents at events and campus activities.
- Proofread divisional publications and website documents, providing a student perspective.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher.
- Interest in social media, advertising, and public relations.
- Comfortable writing and taking photos for social media and public relations.
- Outgoing and willing to engage with peers and constituents.
- Ability to dress appropriately for an administrative office environment.
- Ability to complete training and demonstrate understanding of FERPA requirements and KCC policies related to confidential information and network security.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a current student at Klamath Community College.
- Must have completed the FAFSA for 2024-2025 academic year and been determined eligible for Federal Work Study.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing clerical tasks.
- Frequent use of a computer, keyboard, and other office equipment.
- May work outdoors or in event spaces for outreach and photography assignments.
- This position requires walking across campus to run errands or assist with events.
- Occasional bending, reaching, and stooping.
