Job Title: Structural Drafter

Job Description

As a Structural Drafter, you will develop and maintain structural Revit models for steel, concrete, masonry, tilt-up, and metal building systems. You will produce construction documents, incorporating redlines, sketches, and markups accurately and efficiently into Revit models. You will coordinate structural models with architectural and other engineering disciplines, assist with BIM coordination, and support revisions through various project phases.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain structural Revit models for various building systems.
  • Produce construction documents including plans, sections, details, schedules, and general notes.
  • Incorporate redlines, sketches, and markups accurately into Revit models.
  • Coordinate structural models with architectural and other engineering disciplines to resolve clashes and inconsistencies.
  • Assist with BIM coordination, model cleanup, and document quality control.
  • Support revisions through design development, permitting, and construction phases.
  • Maintain drafting and BIM standards, templates, and best practices.
  • Organize and manage drawing sets, model versions, and project files.
  • Participate in internal coordination meetings to support project delivery.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in structural drafting.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Revit; familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of structural systems including steel framing, concrete, foundations, and masonry.
  • Ability to interpret structural calculations, sketches, and engineer direction.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy and consistency.
  • Experience working on commercial, industrial, or specialty facilities.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical training in drafting, BIM, or a related field.
  • Experience translating engineer markups into high-quality BIM models and construction drawings.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $43.00/hr.
