Position summary:

We are looking for a talented strategist to support the North American Services Business Product teams with strategy development, utilizing strategy frameworks, first-principles based structuring/story-telling and modeling to enable decision making that considers all critical factors of the product's vision and short-term plans. Strategist will support vertical strategy work in Gaming, Media, and/or New Concept Development and advance Samsung's Service Business growth holistically. Role will also be responsible for new business opportunity exploration when need arises. Strategist will support Lead Strategists on most projects.

Role and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain foundation strategies for verticals, which will provide a direction/plan, the rationale for it, and guiding principles that will support strategic decision making - The foundation strategy will manifest as presentation slides
• Architect, complete and maintain financial models that consider all variables of the product/business and produces key business values (e.g. users acquired, user engagement, users retained, revenue, costs) that determine levels of product success
• Support the exploration of opportunities or the resolution of key challenges together with the product team(s) leveraging the tools/skills of the strategy team: frameworks, models, competitive analysis, user analysis, etc.
• Serve as strategic thought leader for the product topic, participate in leadership discussions and provide perspective and recommendations
• Develop and continuously improve methods/processes for new business opportunity exploration
• Work on the continuous improvement of strategy team tools and methods to help the strategy team improve performance and efficiency
• Influence the perspectives of key stakeholders within Samsung, and sometimes partner stakeholders
• Communicate regularly with Samsung North American Service Product teams as well as Samsung HQ Product teams. This includes the business, engineering, and product, legal, marketing, finance, etc. teams.
• Conduct presentations to key executives, from local team execs to HQ (Korea) senior executive team
• Participate in all levels of product decisions, together with the product lead(s) and head of products
• Support Lead Strategists on projects where they are teamed up with them

Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree and MBA preferred
• Knowledge: SW/Services Businesses, SW/Services Product Development and Operations, Media, Product Management
• Skills: Strategy Frameworks, First Principles Based Decision Facilitating, Business Revenue and Cost Modeling, Competitive Analysis, User Profiling, Target User Demographic Analysis, Ideation Workshop Facilitation, Market Research, Build vs Buy vs Partner Analysis, Presentation Creation and Delivery
• Experience: Strategy related work experience. Strategy consulting experience preferred
