Join the Corporate Development team at JPMorgan Chase, which is broadly responsible for strategic partnerships, investments, and acquisitions across JPMorgan Chase’s consumer lines of business – Consumer Bank, Business Bank, Wealth Management, Card Services, Connected Commerce, Home Lending, and Auto Lending. These initiatives are critical to JPMorgan Chase’s ability to execute on its core strategies and meet the needs of our customers in a rapidly changing financial services ecosystem. You will have the opportunity to develop and lead these strategic initiatives that require careful consideration as well as a relentless focus on execution.

The Wealth Management team in Corporate Development is responsible for the overall inorganic strategy, including strategic partnerships, investments, and acquisitions within JPMorgan Chase’s Wealth Management organizations. The team has three primary functions: 1) identify ways to grow and evolve the business through third-party strategies and transactions, 2) lead and execute on all third-party initiatives, including evaluation and negotiation of all transactions, and 3) manage ongoing relationships with existing strategic partners. 

This team is actively building out its coverage of the Private Bank and its strategy designed to support its Family Office and High-Net Worth clients. This Vice President will fill a new role in the organization as the team lead for Strategic Partnerships for the Private Bank, including its new Family Office and Lifestyle Program. This program includes offering clients access to high-end third-party providers across several luxury categories, including private aviation, art & collectibles advisory, family office & household staffing, family office software solutions & CFO services, luxury travel & concierge, yachting and more. You will be a key member of a small, high performance team, working across a large pipeline of the strategic partnerships for this program. You should be comfortable leading strategic analyses across multiple projects, forming meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and have experience in leading through influence across a large, multifaceted organization. You will support Private Bank and Wealth Management senior executives to evaluate how the financial ecosystem is changing, assess the implications to the Private Bank, and identify external opportunities that will deliver value to Private Bank clients. This role requires outstanding analytical skills, proven experience leading complex strategic partnerships, terrific attention to detail, and the ability to produce flawless work across multiple projects. You should have a passion for consumer financial services, FinTech and WealthTech solutions, and for leading relationships with influential internal and external stakeholders.

The Family Office and Lifestyle Services team is a dedicated team charged with driving the bank’s strategic focus on the Private Bank’s wealthiest clients. The team partners with Corporate Development to develop its suite of Family Office & Lifestyle Services, which include strategic partnerships in areas such as private aviation, travel, CFO services, art, staffing, software, and more!

Job responsibilities:  

  • Lead the evaluation, negotiation, and execution of strategic inorganic opportunities for our Private Bank organization
  • Collaboratively develop our book of work and pipeline of opportunities with key Private Bank stakeholders,
  • Lead key elements of the inorganic strategy, including analysis of the competitive landscape, leading diligence, and making recommendations
  • Lead presentations and proposals to senior executives across Wealth Management and the Private Bank 
  • Lead relationships with external companies and stakeholders, acting as the lead point of contact for JPMorgan
  • Develop and deliver specific partner proposals with the lines of business, including overall vision, partnership economics, and product integration
  • Work with finance, legal and other functional partners to develop business cases, deal constructs and other key terms associated with partnerships
  • Monitor external environment for important competitive developments and potential partnership opportunities and share perspectives with key line of business partners
  • Ensure all deals are executed in accordance with firmwide policies, controls and procedures

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills: 

  • 3+ years’ experience in strategic partnership and/or strategy roles. Candidate must have at least 5 years of experience
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented, cross functional environment
  • Ability to lead and own the end-to-end process to execute strategic partnerships and deals, including negotiation, business casing, and se
  • Comfort and experience in being an independent contributor
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, with strong project management ability 
  • Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience and comfort presenting to senior management 
  • Proficient MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • BS degree or equivalent experience required
  • MBA degree preferred
  • Prior experience working with FinTechs or WealthTechs
  • Familiarity with the venture and fundraising ecosystem
  • Prior experience in Wealth Management and/or Private Banking or Family Offices
  • Prior experience working with or supporting High-Net Worth clients and/or Family Offices
