Position Summary

SEA is seeking a strategic marketing and communications leader who can own and evolve the marketing function - bringing both strategic vision and operational execution. This is not a traditional nonprofit marketing and communications role. The ideal candidate combines strong communication instincts, digital marketing expertise, analytical thinking, and thoughtful use of AI-assisted workflows to strengthen and scale marketing operations. We are looking for someone who uses AI to enhance high-quality work—not replace critical thinking, creativity, sound judgment, or human insight. What You’ll Do

• Lead SEA’s integrated marketing and communications strategy

• Own messaging, positioning, and brand consistency across channels

• Build and improve AI-assisted workflows supporting content operations, reporting, SEO, and campaign

execution

• Manage SEA’s digital presence across YouTube, social, email, and web platforms

• Oversee external vendors and contracted marketing services

• Use analytics and reporting insights to guide marketing decisions and optimization

• Partner with leadership and program teams across the organization

• Help shape the future growth and evolution of SEA's marketing function


What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of progressive marketing and communications experience, including ownership of marketing strategy and execution

• Strong digital marketing background across social, email, SEO, and content strategy

• Experience leveraging AI-assisted marketing workflows and automation tools

• Excellent written communication and strategic thinking skills

• Comfortable operating independently while collaborating effectively in a lean, evolving environment

• Experience in nonprofit, education, media, energy, or mission-driven organizations strongly preferred

• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer

sponsorship requirements.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $75,000–$90,000 per year, commensurate with experience

• Benefits include employer-sponsored health insurance, optional dental and vision coverage at employee cost, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and holidays.


Work Environment & Schedule

• Location: This is an Austin-based, in-office role with work-from-home flexibility based on role demands and performance.

• Schedule: Full-time

• Travel Requirements: Occasional travel, up to approximately 10%, in support of SEA events, conferences,

educational initiatives, and organizational meetings

• Physical Demands: General office functions including extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, computer use, and participation in meetings or occasional event-related activities.
