A Steward or dishwasher is primarily responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all hotel china, silverware, and cookware. The Steward is a key member of the Culinary team, ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of all back of house Culinary duties. The Steward will be responsible for the cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of all kitchen service areas, as well as the cleaning and storage of kitchen equipment.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Clean and sanitize all hotel china, dishware, glassware, and cookware
· Ensure back of house areas, including kitchens and pantries, are clean and organized
· Assist with the setup and breakdown of banquet service equipment
· Support banquet operations by maintaining cleanliness and providing necessary food items and/or supplies
· Adhere to health and safety standards, including proper use of cleaning chemicals
· Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, china, glassware, dishware, cookware, and banquet equipment
· Maintain kitchen equipment cleanliness
· Food running and assisting with plate ups or buffets
· Reviewing event orders (EOs) to ensure preparedness
