Hourly Contract Position | Competitive Hourly Pay Based on Experience and Skills | Approx. 20 Hours/Week
Fluxspace Innovations LLC, in partnership with Eastside Charter School (ESCS), is seeking a passionate, creative, and hands-on STEM Education & Makerspace Specialist to support and expand innovative STEM learning experiences for students in grades K–8. This position is fully based onsite at Eastside Charter School and focuses on teaching STEM and makerspace elective courses, supporting schoolwide STEM initiatives, and maintaining cutting-edge educational technologies, equipment, and experiential learning environments.
The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about experiential learning, emerging technologies, engineering design, problem-solving, and engaging students through real-world STEM experiences.
Position Overview
This is an hourly contract position with competitive hourly compensation based on skills, experience, and expertise. This role does not include benefits.
This role will be at least 20 hours per week.
The STEM Education & Makerspace Specialist will play a key role in helping students explore creativity, innovation, engineering, technology, coding, fabrication, and hands-on problem-solving through engaging STEM programming and makerspace experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Teach STEM and makerspace elective courses for K–8 students.
Facilitate engaging, hands-on learning experiences centered around STEM, engineering, design thinking, coding, fabrication, robotics, and innovation.
Manage and maintain the school’s makerspace environment and STEM equipment.
Operate, troubleshoot, and support educational technologies such as:
Support additional STEM initiatives, projects, and experiential learning opportunities throughout the school
Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate STEM activities and resources into classroom instruction
Assist with STEM events, showcases, competitions, workshops, and family/community engagement opportunities
Ensure STEM tools, materials, and equipment remain organized, functional, and accessible
Help foster a positive, collaborative, and innovative learning environment that encourages student creativity and problem-solving
Stay informed on emerging STEM technologies, tools, and instructional practices
Support other related duties as assigned by school leadership
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM, Engineering, Technology, or a related field preferred
Experience teaching STEM, makerspace, technology, engineering, robotics, or related subjects
Experience operating and maintaining STEM/makerspace equipment preferred
Strong understanding of hands-on, project-based learning methodologies
Ability to engage and inspire students through creative and interactive instruction
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a school environment
Passion for innovation, experiential education, and student-centered learning
