This position focuses on fitting and welding structural steel components in a busy fabrication shop environment. You will read and interpret structural blueprints and weld symbols, perform multiple welding processes, and fabricate frames, platforms, supports, and custom assemblies. The role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to work efficiently on a high-volume second-shift schedule.

Work Environment
This role is based in a steel fabrication shop that operates as an open, industrial welding environment. The shop floor sits under a large awning that provides shade but is not climate controlled, so temperatures can become hot, especially during warmer months. The work area is typical of a structural welding shop: dirty, dusty, and loud, with frequent use of heavy equipment and power tools. You will work on the second shift from approximately 5:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., currently averaging 55 to 58 hours per week, with a stated goal of moving toward six-day workweeks as new large projects begin. The shop handles substantial, long-duration projects with 100,000-plus man-hours, offering a steady flow of challenging structural fabrication work. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required and standard for a welding and fabrication environment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00/hr.
