About the State Park Inns:The Indiana State Park Inns are one of the oldest state parks lodging systems in the country. We proudly operate seven unique and beautiful facilities throughout our great state of Indiana that offer a unique experience for guests to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature and make memories naturally! The historic Potawatomi Inn, located within Pokagon State Park, sits along the shore of one of Indiana’s largest lakes, Lake James, in Angola, Indiana. The inn features 126 guest rooms, 12 cabins, two onsite restaurants (Lakeview Restaurant and the Courtyard Café), an indoor pool, and 10,000 square feet of banquet/conference space.

Role Overview:

Direct front-desk operations from 11pm until 7:00 a.m. Record and reconcile charges for previous day.
Assist members and guests in all front office-related areas in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner that maintains high standards of service and hospitality.


Salary Statement:

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $24,648.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

Job Duties:

  • Prepares various daily activity reports for previous day including in-house list, arrival/departure list, and department packets
  • Log and reconcile all charges from previous day
  • Process member and guest check-out
  • Attends department meetings
  • Coordinates guestroom maintenance work with the engineering departments
  • Reports unusual occurrences or requests to the Guest Services Manager
  • Knows all safety and emergency procedures and accident prevention policies and procedures
  • Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk and lobby area
  • Thoroughly understands and follows proper credit, cash-checking, and cash-handling policies and procedures
  • Takes same day reservations and future reservations
  • Coordinates room status updates by notifying housekeeping of all check-outs, late check-outs, early check-ins, and special requests
  • Follows procedures for issuing and closing safe deposit boxes used by members and guests
  • Use proper telephone etiquette
  • Perform other appropriate task assigned by the Guest Service Manager

Job Requirements:

2+ years of customer service experience, preferably in hospitality. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Standing, walking, and sitting at a desk/computer frequently throughout the workday. Lift, lower, and maneuver up to 30 pounds occasionally. Ability to independently work during overnight hours.
