This State & Local Tax Attorney role offers exposure to sophisticated property and transfer tax planning, exemptions, and multi-level tax controversies. This partner-track position is actively interviewing and presents a rare opportunity to work on high-profile matters while building specialized expertise in SALT law.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct in-depth legal and factual research related to state and local tax matters
• Assist in property and transfer tax planning, including exemptions and exclusions
• Support litigation and controversy matters across administrative and appellate levels
• Draft legal memoranda, briefs, and other documents for varied audiences
• Participate in case strategy, valuation analysis, and dispute resolution
• Engage in oral advocacy before tribunals and regulatory bodies
• Maintain frequent client interaction and provide strategic tax advice

Qualifications
• 3–6 years of experience as a State & Local Tax Attorney or Tax Associate Attorney
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
• Admission to at least one U.S. Bar (CA Bar or willingness to sit required)
• Experience at an Am Law firm or top accounting firm preferred
• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
• Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with financial data
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
