Primary function of a Staff CAD Engineer is to support Aeonsemi’s design teams by providing a robust project design environment and assist in developing flow improvements.
- Installing foundry PDKs and IP libraries from selected foundries. Make necessary modifications to the installed PDK to function with our automation flow.
- Installing CAD software and managing licenses.
- Ensure design teams have access to the latest versions of our vendor tools.
- Maintain vendor licenses, monitor usage, adjust licenses during peak usage.
- Work closely with design teams to identify opportunities to facilitate design teams through custom scripts, design flow improvements.
- Assist in migrating analog-mixed signal designs between foundries. Custom code to migrate schematic and layout hierarchy from one foundry PDK to another.
- Developing Cadence Skill and/or python scripts that facilitate a design teams in processing design data.
- Maintain/Improve our python scripts for creating our project infrastructure, IP installations, backups, and support utilities.
- Job requirements:
- BSEE/MSEE or equivalent
- Experience installing and setting up foundy PDKs and IP libraries
- Familiar with Cadence design tools from schematic entry and simulation through physical design/verification and extraction. Experiece with Cadence’s Skill language, CDFs, Pegasus and PVS coding a big plus.
- Familiar with version control systems such as Git,SVN,CVS
- Experience with Python, TCL, Perl scripting languages
