About the Job: In this position, you will provide staff assistance to the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Director and executive staff. You will also provide administrative support for the department.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00a - 5:00p in office. There is potential for future flexibility with schedule based on stakeholders' and operational needs.
This position is subject to budget required furloughs to be implemented in the 2026 calendar year.

As a Staff Assistant, you will:- Serve as liaison between Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services, other City departments, boards, committees, and external partners
- Coordinate, monitor, and participate in projects and functions to support the Director
- Coordinate the Director's daily schedule; set appointments utilizing initiative, creativity, and understanding of City operations and reporting relationships as well as maintaining awareness of community issues
- Organize staff meetings, off-site conferences, and workshops; make reservations and travel arrangements; prepare travel advance requests and expense summaries; and develop agendas, record transactions, compile information, and track assignments
- Compose and prepare correspondence and reports for both internal and external use, including agenda requests, memorandums, letters, training materials, speeches, and a variety of confidential records
- Coordinate and execute department staff meetings (in-person and virtual) and employee engagement initiatives, including developing agendas and presentations, managing logistics, and recording and distributing meeting materials and resources
- Oversee, coordinate, and provide support to Department Boards and Committees, including scheduling, posting agendas and meeting minutes, and corresponding with members
- Develop and coordinate manuals for boards, committees, and City Council
- Maintain records and document management systems to support efficient retrieval of information and compliance with public records requirements
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to administrative processes, communication workflows and operational efficiency within the department

Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED).
Five years of full-time administrative support experience, including experience in an executive support role
