Staff Accountant / Office Operations Manager

The Firm

We are a premier, privately held professional bookkeeping firm specializing in high-level QuickBooks solutions. We don’t just "crunch numbers"—we embody the complete set of skills for which the term "bookkeeper" was originally intended. From full-charge bookkeeping and family office support to QuickBooks training and custom consultations, we provide a top-to-bottom service suite for diverse industries and private consumers.

The Role

We are seeking a Staff Accountant / Office Operations Manager to serve as the bridge between the Firm Owner and our team of Certified Account Managers.

This is a "hands-on" leadership role. You aren't just managing from the sidelines; you are a technical expert and a mentor who maintains their own portfolio of clients while ensuring our standards of excellence are met across the board. You will be the first point of contact for our Account Managers when they encounter complex accounting hurdles or need high-level QuickBooks guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Liaison: Act as the primary link between the Owner and the bookkeeping team, ensuring workflows are efficient and client needs are met.

  • Technical Mentorship: Provide high-level support and "troubleshooting" for Account Managers regarding complex QuickBooks Desktop and Online issues.

  • Full-Charge Bookkeeping: Manage an assigned portfolio of clients, performing all functions from data entry and bank reconciliations to financial statement preparation.

  • Client Customization: Assist in designing and implementing customized bookkeeping solutions for new and existing clients.

  • Quality Control: Review files and processes to ensure the firm’s high standards of accuracy and service are maintained.

Required Qualifications
  • QuickBooks Mastery: Current Advanced Certification in both QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online is mandatory.

  • Accounting Depth: A background as a Staff Accountant or Full-Charge Bookkeeper with a deep understanding of GAAP and full-cycle accounting.

  • Management Experience: Proven experience in operations or team leadership within a professional services environment.

  • Adaptability: Ability to pivot between high-level operational strategy and granular, "in-the-weeds" bookkeeping tasks.

  • Communication: Exceptional service-oriented communication skills to support both the internal team and external clients.

Compensation & Exceptional Benefits

We believe in taking care of the people who take care of our clients. We offer a robust benefits package that prioritizes your health and long-term security:

  • 100% Paid Premiums: Healthcare, Dental, and Vision (Company pays 100% of the employee premium).

  • Income Protection: Long-Term (LTD) and Short-Term Disability (STD) provided.

  • Life Insurance: $25,000 policy included.

  • Retirement: 401(k) eligibility after one year of service with up to a 4% company match.

  • Time Off: Competitive PTO, Holiday Pay, and performance-based bonuses.

  • Work-Life Balance: Generally a Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM schedule. While business needs may occasionally require extra time, we are deeply committed to a sustainable work-life balance.

Schedule
  • Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
