About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a Staff Accountant Consultant to join a stable wellness and lifestyle organization on a contract-to-hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys rolling up their sleeves in a hands-on environment and making a meaningful impact. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting daily accounting operations, improving processes, and helping bring structure and efficiency to a highly visible accounting function during a period of transition and growth. This position offers exposure to a variety of accounting responsibilities, opportunities to drive process improvements, and the chance to contribute within a collaborative and team-oriented environment.
Contract-to-Hire Opportunity
Location: 100% Onsite – Los Angeles, CA
Compensation: $35-$45/hr
Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
Scope:
• Support monthly close activities, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accuracy across general ledger accounts
• Assist with cleanup and reconciliation of historical accounting records and balance sheet accounts
• Support billing, collections, and payment reconciliation activities related to recurring customer/member transactions
• Prepare and maintain accounting process documentation and standard operating procedures
• Provide accounting support for special projects, events, and operational initiatives
• Partner with accounting leadership to identify and implement process improvements
• Assist with future accounting system enhancements, implementations, and user adoption efforts
Qualifications & Expertise:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; candidates actively pursuing a degree will also be considered
• Experience supporting general ledger accounting functions within a corporate accounting environment
• Strong understanding of journal entries, account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and month-end close processes
• Ability to work effectively in a detail-oriented, deadline-driven environment
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
• Experience supporting process improvement initiatives and documenting accounting procedures preferred
• Comfortable learning new technologies and supporting system implementation efforts
