Job Summary/Overview
We are seeking a visionary technical leader to serve as SRE – Automation Lead. This role will be responsible for defining and executing the automation strategy across our Site Reliability Engineering organization, building world-class automation platforms, and implementing cutting-edge AIops capabilities. The ideal candidate combines exceptional software development skills with deep SRE expertise to drive transformational operational efficiency through intelligent automation.
Key Responsibilities
Define Automation Strategy - Establish and drive the comprehensive automation vision and roadmap for SRE, identifying opportunities to eliminate toil, improve reliability, and accelerate operational velocity
Build World-Class Automation Platforms - Architect, design, and lead development of sophisticated automation frameworks, self-service platforms, and tooling that serve as the foundation for SRE operations at scale
Implement AIops & Intelligent Automation - Pioneer the adoption of AI/ML-driven operations including predictive analytics, intelligent incident response, automated remediation, and self-healing systems
Hands-On Development Leadership - Write code, conduct design reviews, and maintain deep technical involvement in building automation solutions that solve complex operational challenges
Lead Automation Engineering Team - Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of automation engineers and SRE specialists focused on developing next-generation operational tooling
Drive Automation Adoption - Partner with SRE, DevOps, and engineering teams to promote automation best practices, drive adoption of automation platforms, and measure impact through clear metrics
Establish Automation Standards - Define coding standards, design patterns, and architectural principles for automation development; ensure security, scalability, and maintainability of automation solutions
Optimize Reliability Through Automation - Leverage automation to improve system reliability, reduce MTTR, increase deployment frequency, and strengthen incident prevention capabilities
Innovation & Technology Evaluation - Research and evaluate emerging technologies in automation, AI/ML, and observability; drive proof-of-concepts and integration of innovative solutions
Measure & Report Impact - Establish KPIs for automation coverage, toil reduction, and operational efficiency; regularly communicate progress and ROI to executive leadership
