U.S. Bank is seeking a Software Engineer who will contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives in our digital transformation journey.
This position will be responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development and maintenance of best-in-class software experiences. The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S. Bank standards in order to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. The candidate will be adept with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.
Essential Responsibilities :
Design, build, and maintain features end-to-end in the larger application working with other agile teams to execute on new features with stability, scalability, testability, security, and performance in mind.
Define and follow governance on the common architecture through code reviews and controlled merges; ensure code quality standards and best practices are upheld across the agile team.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers, leads, and managers via weekly touch points and design reviews.
Support monthly production installs and validations.
Conduct in-depth analysis of current systems and provide recommendations and improvements including prototyping and proof of concepts
Embraces emerging technology opportunities and contributes to the best practices in support of the bank's technology transformation.
Exhibit relentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards.
Reviews tasks critically and ensures appropriate prioritization and sizing for incremental delivery. Anticipate and communicate blockers and potential delays before they require escalation.

Microservices: Java, J2EE, Spring, SpringBoot, RESTful web services, Junit, Mockito, Cucumber, Karate
Micro front-end: ReactJS, SASS, Webpack (Module Federation), common (Shield) libraries.
Development tools: JIRA, IDE (Eclipse, IntelliJ, Visual Studio code), Zephyr
Testing/automation framework: Selenium, Cucumber, Playwright
Deployment tools: Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, ServiceNow
Monitoring: Splunk, Kibana
Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
Five to six years of relevant experience
Preferred skills/experience :
2+ years of technical lead/architect experience
8+ years in Java EE design and development, testing, version control and the Eclipse IDE
5+ years in Microservices/REST API development using Java/Springboot.
Experience with GIT version control and merge management
Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins/Cloudbees, Fortify, Sonar, Black Duck
Experience with application performance tuning - logging, monitoring tools, alerts
Experience in RDBMS like DB2
Knowledge of NoSQL databases like Cassandra is preferred
Knowledge of Spring integration with streaming technologies like Apache Kafka is preferred
Knowledge of quality improvements - including testing automation is preferred
Deployment tools using Docker, Kubernetes, and overall DevOps is preferred
Proven experience with thorough understanding of a feature's purpose, the users impacted and the flows impacted
Demonstrated technical leadership and direction. Leads by example; providing support and mentoring as needed to ensure sufficient skill, knowledge and effectiveness in the development and testing process
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Adept with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles
Able to communicate processes and results with all parties involved in the product team, including engineers, product owner, scrum master, third party vendors and customers.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $124,695.00 - $146,700.00 - $161,370.00
