Position: Sr. Software Engineer, AI

Compensation: $140,000 - $150,000 annually, depending on experience

Location: Houston, Texas

Join an industry-leading company specializing in transportation, storage, processing, and marketing solutions for crude oil. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate self-starter to work in a fast-moving, collaborative, and innovative environment. The role is open to support the company's growth in AI-driven solutions, focusing on designing and implementing custom AI-enabled applications.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Lead the design of AI-enabled applications for enterprise workflows
• Define standard patterns for Retrieval Augmented Generation
• Design orchestration approaches for AI applications
• Partner with platform teams to align AI solutions with enterprise standards
• Guide implementation decisions for secure, scalable solutions
• Design integration patterns between AI applications and data sources
• Ensure AI solutions comply with internal policies and ethical standards
• Mentor and guide other engineers

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Senior-level experience in software engineering roles
• Proficiency in Python for building backend services and APIs
• Experience with cloud environments, preferably Azure
• Experience integrating applications with structured and unstructured data sources

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Experience with Databricks, Spark, or data engineering concepts
• Experience supporting AI solutions in regulated environments
• Exposure to optimization, forecasting, or decision-support models
