Join our dedicated Dock Specialist teaminUnity Lab Services, where we ensure seamlesslogisticsand support tailored to our customers' unique needs.We’reseeking an organized Dock Specialist to manage shipping and receiving operations.You'llbe the point of contact for customers and carriers, ensuring compliance and efficiency in all dock and shipping activities.
A day in the Life:
Generate, verify, and match shipping labels with incoming packages to ensure accuracy.
Maintain awareness of current SDS and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and ensure compliance.
Identifyorder discrepancies andraise toappropriate personnel.
Ensureall incoming and outgoing packages are scanned accurately for inventory control.
Safelyoperatepallet jacks to move heavy packages and pallets.
Ensure proper handling and placement of items to prevent damage.
Coordinate the delivery of materials to theappropriate locations.
May perform other duties as assigned by management.
Keys to Success:
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
2-3 years of work experience in material handling: warehousing, shipping, and/or receiving isrequired.
DOT/IATA Certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Proficiencywith Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams).
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a safety-first approach.
Proficient in reading and interpreting shipping labels (DOT labeling), with the ability to be trained in the operation of pallet jacks and lift gates
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
The role primarily involves working independently at customer sites, which may include areas with chemical-based allergens like penicillin and tetracycline. Personal protective equipment, such as lab coats, coveralls, facemasks, and steel-toe shoes, is oftenrequired. The position requires regular lifting of 30-40lbs(up to 50lbsoccasionally) and using equipment like pushcarts and forklifts to move up to 100 lbs. Standing, walking, reaching, and bending are frequent activities, sometimes in varied temperature environments. Overtime work may also be necessary.
