Sr Project Accountant - Residential Construction

This position offers direct exposure to executive leadership and a clear path for advancement into a Controller-level role.


What You’ll Do:


Financial Reporting

  • Prepare quarterly financial statements and “book-to-GAAP” reporting packages
  • Support partnership reporting and presentations
  • Maintain loan and equity schedules, including cash flow waterfalls

Audit & Compliance

  • Partner with external auditors during interim and year-end audits
  • Provide documentation and support for third-party audit requests

Project & Sales Accounting

  • Review and verify lot and commercial sales transactions
  • Maintain lot sales, land inventory, and related schedules
  • Ensure accuracy of tax prorations and closing documentation

AP/AR & Operational Accounting

  • Oversee invoice review, coding, and payment processing
  • Support accounts receivable activities and cash applications
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely financial processing

Additional Responsibilities

  • Manage loan draw processes and supporting documentation
  • Maintain and reconcile reimbursement schedules
  • Support property tax tracking and payments
  • Partner cross-functionally with project and engineering teams


What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA a plus)
  • 5+ years of GAAP accounting experience
  • Experience in real estate development, construction, or job costing is a must
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
  • Experience with accounting systems such as Timberline or similar preferred
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
