Senior Program Administrator, Fleet Services

The City of Colorado Springs is ready to welcome a Sr. Program Administrator to our Fleet Services team. The administrator coordinates daily maintenance and repair operations for a large, diverse fleet across over 10 service centers while collaborating with Public Safety, Public Works, and Parks departments to meet city priorities. Responsibilities also include managing programs and budgets, improving processes, overseeing staff, building partnerships, and serving as a subject-matter expert and liaison for leadership committees.



This position is subject to budget required furloughs to be implemented in the 2026 calendar year.

As a Sr. Program Administrator, you will:

  • Lead fleet maintenance staff to develop an organization that practices continuous improvement.
  • Develop employees through teaching, coaching, and mentoring of supervisors and employees.
  • Manage the fleet maintenance program by evaluating current procedures and policies to ensure compliance with program objectives and achieving key performance indicators.
  • Oversee budget preparation and monitors the program expenses.
  • Design, develop and implement long range plans, programs, and strategies to expand the program.
  • Consult with customer departments to identify maintenance and repair program needs.
  • Act as a resource regarding program development and initiatives; assist with proposal preparations.
  • Serve on departmental partnerships or committees and integrate fleet programs into city initiatives as well as serve as liaison to community partnerships.
  • Research training needs and assist with development and delivery of required training for staff.

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
Knowledge of:

  • Fleet database programs for the planning and execution of Preventative Maintenance program.
  • Municipal fleet best practices.
  • Technician development and training to create certified fleet professionals
  • Fleet regulatory compliance and safety standards

Ability to:

  • Proactively identify and solve problems.
  • Provide professional "leadership by example" and effective mentorship and evaluation of supervisors.
  • Collaborate with multiple department and stakeholder customers.
  • Assess repairs with cost analysis emphasizing good stewardship of taxpayer dollars.
  • Prioritize maintenance efforts for fleet units, providing shift priorities to meet changing operational needs.
  • Learn new fleet technology & systems to improve fleet operations

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a related field of study
  • Five years of full-time, professional experience in a related field
  • Two years of administrator and/or supervisory experience

  • Currently possess and maintain a valid, non-probationary driver's license not subject to restrictions
  • Currently possess and maintain a valid, non-probationary Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges
  • Currently possess and maintain an ASE (Automotive Service Excellence Master Technician Certification)
  • Experience working with Assetworks M5 fleet database
  • Experience working with Geotab Telematics
  • Experience with Gasboy Fuel Rings and hardware

Work Schedule:Monday - Friday; 8:30AM - 4:00PM (this position supervises two shifts and may adjust work hours as needed to provide direct support to either shift)

Supervision Exercised:Work requires supervising and monitoring performance for a regular group of employees or department including providing input or hiring/disciplinary actions and work objectives/effectiveness, performance evaluations, and realigning work as needed. A first line supervisor typically performs these functions.

Physical Demands: Exerting 50-100 lbs. occasionally; 10-25 lbs. frequently; or up to 10-20 lbs. constantly.
