Term: 6-month contract with possible extensions or permanency based on performance

Shift: M – F 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Subcontracts Specialist to support critical government programs in a FAR Part 15 acquisition environment. This role is responsible for leading the end-to-end lifecycle of FAR 15 proposals and subcontracts, including supplier negotiations, cost and pricing analysis, contract execution, and compliance activities.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience negotiating and managing subcontract agreements within government contracting environments, with a strong focus on contract penetration, speed to award, and establishing long-term agreements that deliver competitive pricing while maintaining full FAR/DFARS compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the full lifecycle of FAR Part 15 subcontract activities from proposal development through contract award and execution.
  • Conduct market research, supplier assessments, and cost/price analyses to support sourcing strategies.
  • Negotiate subcontract agreements and long-term purchase agreements with suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, Truthful Cost or Pricing Data (TCPD), and other applicable government regulations.
  • Develop negotiation strategies that achieve fair and reasonable pricing while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
  • Collaborate with Pricing, Engineering, Program Management, and Legal teams to deliver compliant FAR 15 packages.
  • Manage key supplier relationships and support ongoing contract performance.
  • Lead commodity management activities and provide strategic sourcing guidance.
  • Mentor and train team members on subcontracting processes, compliance requirements, and negotiation best practices.
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies throughout the subcontracting lifecycle.
  • Support audit readiness and maintain complete documentation for government review.

Required Qualifications:

  • Direct experience executing FAR Part 15 subcontracts.
  • Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and government contracting requirements.
  • Experience conducting supplier negotiations and cost/price analyses.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Contracts, or related field.
  • Experience supporting defense, aerospace, or other government contracting industries.
  • Knowledge of subcontract types including:
  • Firm Fixed Price (FFP)
  • Cost Plus (CP)
  • Cost Plus Incentive Fee (CPIF)
  • Experience with Truthful Cost or Pricing Data (TCPD/TINA).
  • Ability to negotiate complex terms and conditions.
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience working with subcontractors throughout all phases of the program lifecycle.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
