About the Position

This position serves to support the State Director of Operations and Infrastructure through the coordination, management, and implementation of priority infrastructure initiatives. This position reports to the Deputy Director for Infrastructure.


This position is 100% onsite at our office in either Albany, NY or New York City, NY.


Duties

  • Support the development of policy to advance the Governor's policy agenda, including reviewing proposed legislation and existing policies, developing research reports and policy proposals, and providing policy analysis to senior staff.
  • Consult with State agencies, authorities, local governments, and other external stakeholders to understand key infrastructure challenges and opportunities in New York State.
  • Work with State agencies and authorities to expedite project delivery, facilitating interagency coordination and ensuring that projects meet critical milestones.
  • Identify and assess locally significant projects across New York with unmet capital funding needs and, in coordination with Division of Budget, senior staff, and State agencies, pair appropriate funding sources with priority projects.
  • Oversee grant administration for locally significant projects to ensure funding advances in a timely manner, resolving issues on an as-needed basis.
  • Coordinate with counterparts from other entities at the federal, state, and local level to share best practices and coordinate on key initiatives and policies.
  • Provide briefings, materials, and memoranda to senior staff and the Governor, providing necessary information and analysis for informed decision making on priority projects and programs.
  • Performing other tasks as needed at the direction of the Deputy Director for Infrastructure.


Knowledge & Skills

  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced and confidential environment under tight deadlines is essential.


Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with capital project planning, best practices in construction management, and familiarity with federal funding policies and procedures.


Employment with the New York State Executive Chamber is contingent upon the successful completion of a comprehensive background investigation.


Preferred Qualifications

  • A relevant graduate degree is preferred, and may be substituted for one year of the relevant work experience required.


Pay & Benefits

Salary: $130,000-$150,000
