Sr Plant Electrical Engineer
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Sr Plant Electrical Engineer to support the reliability, maintenance, and continuous improvement of electrical control systems within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant electrical systems through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, optimization, and project execution. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with a continuous improvement mindset to drive operational excellence and support long-term business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Systems Reliability & Maintenance
- Design, maintain, and optimize electrical control systems to ensure reliable plant operations.
- Partner with the Maintenance team to schedule and oversee preventative maintenance activities for electrical systems.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues within electrical systems to minimize operational downtime.
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Safety, Compliance & Quality
- Ensure electrical systems comply with applicable safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Conduct inspections, audits, and assessments to maintain compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support the implementation of sustainable and state-of-the-art solutions that align with safety and quality requirements.
Project Management & Continuous Improvement
- Manage and execute capital and improvement projects within established timelines and budgets.
- Ensure projects meet design specifications and operational objectives.
- Conduct technical analyses and develop innovative solutions to optimize system performance.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, digital tools, and analytics capabilities to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Develop and standardize maintenance procedures that reduce downtime, improve maintainability, and lower maintenance costs.
- Support strategic initiatives focused on technological advancement and operational excellence.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach above shoulder level, stoop, kneel, twist, and crouch for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to utilize close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including:
- Hard hat
- Safety shoes
- Eye protection
- Hearing protection
- Safety harness
- Protective clothing
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or related environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience leading engineering improvement projects and cross-functional initiatives.
Compensation
Base Salary Range: $83,600 – $125,400 annually
Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including geographic location, education, experience, skills, and other job-related qualifications. This position may also be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation.
