Job Title: Metrology Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Metrology Technician on 2nd & 3rd shift who will be responsible for operating and programming a variety of metrology tools and equipment. This role requires proficiency in using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), 3D Scanners, and other metrology instruments to ensure the accuracy and precision of measurements in line with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and program a Hexagon Global S 122210 OPTICS A+T+ CMM using PC-DMIS.
  • Operate and program a Leica Absolute Tracker AT0960-MR using a touch probe and SMR.
  • Operate and program a Hexagon Romer Absolute Arm with touch and laser scanning capabilities using SA or other analyzers.
  • Utilize standard inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gage blocks, height gages, and granite tables.
  • Calibrate inspection tools to maintain measurement accuracy.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints, with a strong understanding of Geometric Tolerancing and Dimensioning (GD&T).

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in metrology, preferably in the aerospace, defense, or satellite industry.
  • Proficiency in using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) such as Hexagon Metrology’s Global S CMM and Zeiss CONTURA.
  • Ability to operate 3D Scanners such as FARO Edge ScanArm and GOM ATOS.
  • Experience with Calibration Recall systems and software, including ProCalV5, Calibration Recall, and MET/CAL.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and regulatory compliance requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in using and interpreting GD&T.
  • Familiarity with various metrology tools and software.

Work Environment

This is an on-site role located in Midland. The position includes a stipend, relocation, and hotel accommodations. Overtime opportunities are available with 10+ hours a week, and the role requires on-call availability for weekend shifts.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Midland, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $83000.00 - $100000.00/yr.

Client will pay for relocation costs, stipend for food and housing as well as hotel stay for first 3 months in midland.

This is a fully onsite position in Midland,TX.
