Job Title: Senior Mechanical Project Manager

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager to oversee construction activities at a NYCHA project site in Brooklyn. This role will be responsible for leading mechanical scopes of work, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring successful project delivery from execution through completion.

This is a high-impact, field-based role ideal for someone who thrives in complex construction environments, has strong leadership capabilities, and is experienced working on public-sector or NYCHA projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all mechanical aspects of the project from construction through closeout
  • Oversee daily on-site construction activities, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract documents
  • Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and stakeholders to maintain project alignment
  • Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and milestones to ensure timely delivery
  • Conduct site inspections and quality control reviews to ensure adherence to codes, standards, and NYCHA requirements
  • Identify and resolve field issues, RFIs, and coordination challenges proactively
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment on-site
  • Support project reporting, documentation, and communication with internal leadership and external stakeholders

Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years of experience in construction/project management with a focus on mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Prior experience working on NYCHA or public-sector projects strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, mechanical systems, and building codes
  • Proven ability to manage field operations, subcontractors, and project timelines
  • OSHA 10 certification (OSHA 30 preferred)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with inspection processes and quality assurance/quality control
  • Familiarity with NYC codes, permitting, and compliance requirements
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, highly regulated environments

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $65.00/hr.
