Purpose of Role:
Lowes.com is one of the fastest growing e-commerce websites in retail. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director, Online Strategy and Analytics, the Sr. Manager, Online Strategy will be responsible for serving as a catalyst to the organization and for scoping and developing key online strategy roadmaps, transformational initiatives, business planning processes, and special projects. This leader will be responsible for supporting and driving the strategic planning process, Board updates, Officer meetings, business development / M&A opportunity identification, marketplace assessments, competitive analysis, and capability gap evaluations. This role collaborates with business/functional leaders and functional peers to develop and deliver multi-year plans within the discrete work stream/project. This individual will provide fact-based points of views to be used in the development and prioritization of corporate and business strategy work streams to drive new growth opportunities for the e-commerce business.
Responsibility Statements:
• Develops and leads work stream(s) within lowes.com enterprise/business strategy as well as business transformation initiatives, business planning processes, and special projects.
• Brings an 80/20 mindset (i.e., focusing on 20% of the actions that will drive 80% of the value) and scopes projects using a hypothesis-driven / answer-first approach.
• Performs deep analysis to provide recommendations regarding the business model structure, industry and consumer trends, brand and offering positioning, market opportunity, and competitive intelligence.
• Assembles, directs, leads, and influences cross-functional teams across various functions.
• Works on business enterprise and operating strategy development as well as the strategy execution plan to ensure appropriate strategic direction and implementation.
• Influence business strategy and solve complex problems while acting as a subject matter expert for Online Strategy, with an emphasis on bringing omni-channel solutions and capabilities to the business (e.g., Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain, Stores).
• Gains the stakeholder buy-in necessary for the successful execution of the business plan.
• Serves as a thought leader in business planning and actionable strategy development as well as an example of open and transparent partnership across functional groups.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Strategy, or a similar field
• 5+ years’ experience building omnichannel strategies and plans at multi-billion enterprise level, communicating at VP-level, building materials for Board/Officer/CEO/ELT, self-motivated and sufficient to take direction and drive, able to help inspire and collaborate with cross-functional organizations to accomplish enterprise-wide missions
• 5+ years’ experience in strategic or management consulting as well as leading high-performing strategy consulting teams within Retail and/or Consumer markets OR 5+ years’ experience working in a corporate environment, Omni-channel retail with focus on e-commerce
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Master’s Degree in Management, Business Administration, or a similar field
