Responsible for the management and administration of the operations and maintenance of all university utility plants.
Ensuring the continuous and reliable supply of utilities, meeting environmental and safety standards, and optimizing plant performance.
Plans and directs activities relative to the maintenance of equipment, machinery and building utility systems.
Maintains records of maintenance activities for each piece of production equipment and machinery so as to assess and monitor maintenance effectiveness and trends. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks to measure and report on the plant's performance, efficiency and reliability.
Assesses maintenance activities and processes to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
Participates in the planning and design of existing and new energy plants, including infrastructure and equipment.
Ensures that all employees are trained on safety and quality standards to ensure the department consistently meets established objectives.
Recommends and advises Facilities Management leadership on standards, policies and procedures as they related to energy plant standards.
Management duties include interviewing, selecting and training of employees; recommending pay adjustments; planning and directing work; appraising productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in status; handling complaints and grievances when necessary.
Utilize data analysis tools to monitor plant performance, diagnose issues, and make data-driven decisions to optimize operations.
Develop and manage the plant's budget, including forecasting expenses, monitoring costs, and optimizing resource allocation.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
