Sr Field Service Engineer (ISR Aircraft Support)

Job Description This position is in support of U.S. Customs and Border Protection as an avionics and mission system Field Service Engineer providing ISR aircraft support. Working for BAE systems in this role presents a unique challenge and opportunity to work on a broad array of systems. The role of Field Service Engineer entails testing, troubleshooting and repair of complex avionics, communications, computer and mission sensor equipment onboard King Air 300 series aircraft. The candidate must be capable of utilizing common test equipment such as multimeters, signal analyzers, oscilloscopes and avionics data loaders as part of the typical job tasking. You will work with other BAE team members across the country, the customer and external contractors to identify, isolate and resolve discrepancies to ensure aircraft mission readiness.

This is an individual position located at the CBP Miami Air and Marine Branch located in Homestead, FL. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Homestead, FL or surrounding areas.Required Education, Experience, & Skills High School Diploma and at least 5 years of experience as an avionics technician
Valid U.S. Driver's license
Avionics or electronic technical training
Ability to utilize common test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes
Ability to independently provide technical assistance on classified platforms or facility with limited supervision
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to team with other employees, customer and external contractors
Ability to lift at least 30 pounds, work on ladders or in lift equipment
Ability/willingness to travel to various CONUS or OCONUS locations as required (at least 25%)
Proficiency with common Office applications such as Word, Outlook and Excel
Ability to obtain Dept. of Homeland Security clearance to perform work on-site will be requiredPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills Experience in the following systems, or closely related, is preferred:
  • AN/ARC-210, RT-1851, RT-2036c radio communications systems
  • Customs Over the Horizon (SELCAL) H.F. communication system.
  • SeaVue airborne maritime/ISAR RADAR
  • Selex Seaspray 7500E RADAR
  • L-3 WESCAM MX15 Hd or MX-20 Hd electro-optic systems.
  • AIS receivers
  • Avalex or Churchill/Shotover digital video recorders.
  • Technisonic TDFM-9300 or Global Wulfsburg P-25 radio systems.
  • Minotaur Mission System/Linux operating system based mission processing systems.
  • Ku Satcom Beyond Line-of-Sight systems
  • Aircraft power inverter/converter systems familiarity.
  • Aircraft intercommunications systems.
  • Familiarity with Ethernet physical and network layer hardware such as hubs, repeaters, routers and cables.
  • Familiarity with Serial Digital Interface video.
  • FCC General Radio Operator License.


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $88189 - $149922

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
