Position Specific Description
Palms Insurance is currently looking for a SVP, Underwriting for the Specialty Property team. This position is responsible managing their own portfolio’s performance, including new business production, retention, rate/tiering execution, and portfolio management actions. Additionally, they will be responsible for managing broker relationships, underwriting referrals, and maintaining a production portfolio to stay attuned with market changes and challenges.
They will be expected to travel as necessary to support the needs of the team and to cultivate key broker relationships. The position is a critical role in driving a diversified, dynamic and engaging team culture. This position also requires strong technical acumen in underwriting property risks in the E&S segment, experience in overseeing and developing underwriting talent, the ability to manage complex processes, strong relationship engagement and sales skills and a demonstrated ability of profitable portfolio management.
Job OverviewThis position will manage a team of underwriters and/or actuaries and have responsibility for multiple underwriting books of business. This employee would manage customer and broker relationships and have budget authority over their organization.
