FUNCTION: The Senior Director of Marketing & Public Relations serves as the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas’ senior marketing and public relations leader, responsible for shaping how the Federation’s mission, impact, and value are understood and experienced across the community and beyond. As the organization’s chief brand steward and strategic storyteller, the Sr. Director of Marketing and Public Relations drives visibility, engagement, and growth in direct support of fundraising, donor engagement, and community impact goals.


Reporting to and partnering closely with the CEO, the Senior Director of Marketing & Public Relations leads an enterprise-wide marketing and public relations strategy that integrates brand, storytelling, digital engagement, and communications. This role requires a strategic, creative, and data-informed leader who thrives in a mission-driven environment and is passionate about strengthening Jewish life and community.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Strategic Marketing & Growth Leadership

·      Develop and execute an organization-wide, data-driven marketing strategy aligned with revenue growth, donor acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.

·      Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and analytics to measure marketing effectiveness, return on investment, and audience engagement.

·      Lead integrated brand, marketing, and communications strategies that align with organizational priorities and fundraising objectives.

·      Ensure consistent, mission-centered messaging across all channels, including digital,

print, public relations, events, and internal communications.

·      Oversee editorial strategy and content calendars to ensure timely, cohesive, and high-impact outreach.

·      Elevate the Federation’s profile as a thought leader through compelling storytelling, media engagement, and visibility initiatives.

 

Executive Communications & Public Relations

·      Serve as the lead strategist for executive communications, thought leadership, and crisis communications.

·      Advise the CEO, senior leadership, and Board on messaging, positioning, and public communications.

·      Partner closely with the CEO to enhance executive presence, visibility, and influence.

·      Oversee public relations strategy and manage relationships with external agencies and media partners.

·      Drive earned media coverage across local, national, and Jewish media outlets.


Brand, Campaign & Digital Strategy

·      Lead and steward the Federation’s brand, ensuring clarity, consistency, and strong market positioning.

·      Direct integrated, full-funnel campaigns—from awareness through conversion and stewardship—in alignment with fundraising and engagement goals.

·      Advance innovative digital, omnichannel, and performance marketing strategies.

·      Collaborate with development leadership to ensure marketing campaigns clearly connect community impact with philanthropic priorities.

·      Lead ongoing digital transformation efforts, including CRM integration, marketing automation, audience segmentation, and personalized donor journeys.

 

Team Leadership & Operations

·      Build, develop, and lead a high-performing marketing and communications team, including performance management, professional development, and succession planning.

·      Align marketing efforts with development, programs, and other internal teams around shared growth and engagement goals.

·      Oversee departmental budgets, vendors, agencies, and cross-functional partnerships.

·      Establish scalable systems and processes that enhance efficiency, accountability, and impact.

·      Support internal stakeholders with strategic communications, campaigns, and event marketing initiatives.

 

Community Engagement & Organizational Visibility

·      Develop event marketing strategies that increase visibility, engagement, and community impact.

·      Partner with internal teams on messaging for major events, campaigns, and organizational initiatives.

·      Expand audience reach and deepen stakeholder engagement through targeted, audience-informed experiences.

·      Oversee production of the Annual Report and other key organizational publications.

·      Integrate events into broader donor acquisition, retention, and engagement strategies.


QUALIFICATIONS:

·      Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.

·      Minimum of 5 years of progressive marketing and communications experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.

·      Demonstrated success leading integrated marketing strategies that drive growth, engagement, and measurable results.

·      Experience with marketing analytics, CRM systems, digital platforms, and transformation initiatives.

·      Strong background in media relations, executive communications, and brand management.

·      Exceptional writing, storytelling, and strategic thinking skills.

·      Proven ability to build, lead, and collaborate with high-performing internal teams and external partners.

·      Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, mission-driven, high-visibility environment.

·      Experience in the nonprofit, philanthropic, or Jewish communal sector preferred.

·      Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.
