Job Description: Sr. Demand Planner
Concordis is seeking a Senior Demand Planner for a 6+ month contract role. Our client is a subsidiary of a company based in Japan with offices located in Bellevue, WA. Overview
Our organization is embarking on a transformation project called “Demand Planning 2.0” for its demand planning practices with the goal of better projecting future demand and aligning product assortment with customer needs over a 3-5 year horizon. This project requires a dedicated SME to help determine the process and approach as we embark on this journey & empower other demand planning team members to adopt & evolve these demand planning practices.
As part of a dedicated project team, the Sr. Demand Planner will help support and lead demand planning as part of the implementation phase and support demand planning after the tool is implemented. The project will be supported by a project manager, a Demand Planning SME consultant, leadership support & existing team members.
This project aims to address issues such as stockouts, overstocking, and inefficient product development by enhancing the alignment between product decisions, customer demand and business objectives. Ideal outcomes from this updated process include an enhanced 3-5 year demand forecast to inform optimal product development, subsequently driving more informed buying decisions and improving the ability to react to customer demand. Additionally, this effort aims to drive profitability and customer satisfaction by balancing inventory levels and order fulfillment and managing a sustainable, cost-effective structure.
The Sr. Demand Planner will be ensuring that the new Demand Planning approach is adopted & becomes standard, while focusing on continuous improvement and coaching/mentoring of team members. Candidates should have a robust experience in demand planning. They will be a model builder with our demand planning tool.
What you’ll do
· Serve as a Sr. Demand Planner and key contributor to the design and rollout of improved demand planning processes and tools.
· Build, validate, and maintain demand planning models within the new platform; act as a model‑building SME for the team.
· Collaborate with cross‑functional partners (Category Management, Demand Planning Team, Marketing, Digital Merchandising, Finance, etc.) to integrate new forecasting practices, improving decision-making across the organization.
· Deliver measurable improvements in forecast accuracy, buying/assortment decision timelines & quality, missed demand reduction, performance target setting & attainment
· Support capability building within the Demand & Supply Planning team—help with standardizing deliverables, strengthening analytical practices, and elevating impact on profitability, revenue, and operational efficiency.
· Coach and mentor team members to adopt new ways of working and ensure the long‑term sustainability of the Demand Planning 2.0 program.
· Support ongoing demand planning operations and continuous improvement after the new tool and processes are implemented.
