Responsibilities

  • Own BU‑level data products and data marts, including core commercial, credit, and operational datasets, ensuring data is reliable, well‑documented, and fit for analytical use.
  • Perform data mining and deliver business intelligence reporting using SQL, SSRS, Tableau, and Excel.
  • Lead data quality and reliability efforts across data marts and source feeds, including monitoring, issue triage, root‑cause analysis, and continuous improvement of data quality controls.
  • Coordinate data integrations and ETL workflows, partnering with data engineering and enterprise data teams to onboard new data sources, resolve defects, and improve pipeline robustness.
  • Contribute to the migration of legacy, on‑premise SQL Server/EDW environments to a modern cloud‑based platform (e.g., Databricks).
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements, collaborating with business units and enterprise data teams to deliver new source data and analytics solutions.
  • Design and build analytical data objects (e.g., data marts, commercial datasets) by integrating data from multiple sources into a trusted source of truth.
  • Serve as a key liaison to enterprise data platform and governance teams, ensuring business unit analytics needs are aligned with enterprise standards, tooling, and governance practices.
  • Analyze business functions and processes, document findings, and recommend operational and analytical improvements.
  • Enable and support analysts and analytics users through documentation, shared development patterns, training, and review of complex or ambiguous analytical work.
  • Balance efficiency, regulatory requirements, and customer experience when evaluating systems‑based solutions.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior analysts or team members.
  • Perform additional projects, support, and duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analytics, reporting, or related roles within an office or corporate environment.
  • Strong SQL experience, including complex querying and data transformation.
  • Experience with business intelligence and visualization tools such as Tableau, SSRS, and Excel.
  • Hands‑on experience supporting or delivering data engineering initiatives, including ETL workflows and data warehousing concepts.
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms and tools such as dbt, Databricks, Python, and GitHub.
  • Experience supporting or participating in data platform migrations, preferably from on‑premise environments to cloud‑based solutions.
  • Banking or financial services industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a project‑based environment while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and note‑taking skills, with experience coordinating with senior stakeholders and partner teams.
  • Prior experience mentoring, training, or providing guidance to junior team members is a plus.
