The Senior Designer, Visual Merchandising (Signage) is responsible for driving the development and final production of creative signage based on written or verbal briefs. Ensures both creative concept and final production is executed to brand standards. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to produce design solutions that visually convey a particular message, idea or concept. Reviews concepts, finalizes designs, tracks, processes and releases complete/accurate art files to vendors resulting in quality deliverables for Crate & Barrel and Crate & Kids.
A day in the life as a Senior Designer, Visual Merchandising (Signage)...
- Flex between both creative concept design and/or templated production design, as needed.
- Leads concept creative and interprets rough sketches and verbal direction from leaders to create presentation quality physical and/or digital mockups.
- Presents and delivers concepts and final designs with confidence.
- Prepare content, images, color, and layouts to route for approval. Implement all edits, create files for release, and approve printer proofs.
- Reviews all editorial and image content, ensures proper layout and color and approves printer proofs. Attends press checks and store installs, when required.
- Develops strong working relationships with business partners across all channels of the brand to deliver strategic and on target creative concepts.
- Standardize design & production procedures and implement improvements.
- Create and maintain electronic and physical archives.
What you'll bring to the table...
- Extensive knowledge of prepress, printing processes, graphic design practices and procedures.
- Possess strong typography skills and understanding of brand guidelines.
- Ability to accurately communicate a visual language via email and verbal messages.
- Detailed oriented, with a keen eye for aesthetic quality to successfully guide and move forward multiple projects at one time.
- Possess organizational, problem solving, and time management skills.
- Promote a strong sense of teamwork by working together safely, respectfully, and efficiently in order to contribute to a high performing team.
- Understand and ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures and guidelines.
We'd love to hear from you if you have...
- 8+ years previous experience in print preparation, production and/or design.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training required.
- Proficient in macOS platform and software including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
- Proficient in Google Suite, including Mail, Slides, and Sheets
- Experience with project management software - Asana, etc is a plus
