•Direct impact on patient care – Play a critical role in ensuring clinicians have the supplies, equipment, and services they need to deliver high-quality care.
•Strategic sourcing and negotiations – Lead cost-savings initiatives while leveraging group purchasing contracts and benchmarking tools to drive value for the health system.
•Cross-functional collaboration – Partner closely with clinical departments, portfolio/category managers, value analysis teams, and suppliers to support operational and purchasing initiatives.
•Mentorship and leadership opportunities – Support development of associate buyers and buyers while serving as a subject matter resource for purchasing activities.

Job Summary:

Responsible for bidding, negotiating and procuring supplies, equipment, and/or services for Froedtert Health while ensuring best price, quality, and delivery. Ensure proper delivery, storage and installation in alignment with department requirements or project timelines. Ensure supplies and equipment meet the health system's standards. Participate in project meetings and/or regular meetings with departments served. Responsible for staying up to date with emerging technologies and building strong working relationships with suppliers. Supports Portfolio Managers with RFP and pricing requests including analysis and providing recommendations. Collaborate with other Buyers and Portfolio Managers. Assist Supply Chain leadership with other projects as assigned. Travel required.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain or relevant experience is required.

A minimum of 2 years of relevant buyer experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

Bachelor's degree is required, in lieu of a bachelor's degree, a Associates degree and 3 years of supply chain work experience may be substituted for formal education.
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration, or related field is preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:

Office equipment (i.e., computer, printer, calculator, facsimile, copiers).
Basic typing skills, basic microcomputer skills/Microsoft applications.
Skilled at negotiations.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
MMIS applications familiarity.
Experience with MS Excel, MS Word, and the Lawson Materials Management System is preferred.
