Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego’s campus includes the O’Toole Breast Care Center, a 24-hour emergency room that is a Level I Trauma Center, outpatient physical rehabilitation, minimally invasive robotic surgery and our childbirth unit (including a Level II neonatal intensive care unit).

Our Speech Therapy department at Scripps Mercy Hospital is eager to welcome a Speech Language Pathologist to their tight-knit department. They take a collaborative approach to patient care and partner closely with other rehab disciplines. The ideal candidate is passionate about learning and excited to make a difference in the ethnically diverse community of San Diego.
You will be treating a combination of adults with difficulties swallowing, speaking, communicating, voicing, and cognitive/linguistic deficits in the Outpatient setting. The patients may present post CVA (stroke), head and neck cancer, various neurodegenerative diseases, complex trauma and traumatic brain injuries. You will be cross-trained into Inpatient with the requirement to float there if the Outpatient schedule is not filled.
The Speech Pathologist provides evaluation, assessment, prognosis, treatment and education to patients and clients through a continuum of care according to the therapist's respective licensure/registration/certification, Code of Ethics, Federal/State regulations, JCAHO/UMQC and Care Center policies and procedures. Performs competencies as outlined in unit specific competency assessment tools. Demonstrates age specific care as established for area and job title.
