Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to support licensed Speech-Language Pathologists in providing therapy services to individuals with communication and swallowing disorders. The SLPA will work under the supervision of an SLP to implement treatment plans, conduct therapy sessions, document progress, and assist with administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide speech and language therapy services as directed by a licensed SLP.
Assist in the implementation of treatment plans to improve patients' communication abilities.
Work with patients in individual or group settings in schools, healthcare facilities, or private practices.
Document patient progress and report findings to the supervising SLP.
Prepare therapy materials and activities for treatment sessions.
Educate patients and caregivers on exercises and strategies to support communication goals.
Maintain patient records and adhere to HIPAA and facility guidelines.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or a related field.
State licensure/certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant.
Experience working with individuals with speech, language, or swallowing disorders (preferred).
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with a supervising SLP.
Familiarity with therapy tools, augmentative communication devices, and technology in speech therapy (preferred).
